Recently I had the need to resize a lot of images to a specific size for presentation. Since I use GIMP a lot I tried to resize them using GIMP. But manually resizing every one of them is a tedious job.
It was then that I realised that I could do a batch resize of the images, but that I did not know how to do that using GIMP.
A little googling around I came across this piece of script which just works wonderfully.

Having been provided with a client laptop from office, I need to work from home also as and when required. This created a frustrating problem for me.
When at office I had to use the assigned specific IP complete with subnet mask, default gateway and dns servers.
At home my router was configured for DHCP mode.
This let me to constantly change between static ip and DHCP when at office and when I returned to home from office.
To spare me the troubles i wrote 2 small batch files.
One was for when I was at office, which automatically changed the network adapter’s settings specific to the office and the other was for home to quickly revert back to DHCP.

Yesterday morning when i woke up i saw that my downloads had stalled, my net connection was down.
Being a Reliance Broadnet Unlimited Plan customer, i always used a cURL based script to automate my login and reconnect in case of disconnection.
But yesterday morning the trusty cURL based script also failed. A little probing and i found that Reliance had changed its login page altogether and was using a cookie based authentication.
Lacking time I was not able to probe further.
But today i was lucky to find a new Python based script written by Kunal Dua which worked perfectly fine just like the previous cURL based script.

I was recently going through the various Google APIs that are available when the Google Chart API caught my fancy.
According to Google
The Google Chart API lets you dynamically generate charts. To see the Chart API in action, open up a browser window and copy the following URL into the address bar:
http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=p3&chd=t:60,40&chs=250×100&chl=Hello|World
Press the Enter or Return key and – presto! – you should see the following image:
So i thought why not try to use it and let you know how to use it.
