No Honking Please!!! I am Indian…

Its 6.45 in the morning. Am walking down the road (on the pavement) to the bazaar to pick up milk. The road is nearly empty except for a few early risers like me.
I can hear the birds chirping. The cool breeze feels like heaven.
Suddenly I can hear a vehicle coming from behind. The sound of its engine gives it away and people who are on road have already moved to the pavements to give it way.
Then it happens…the thing that i hate the most.
The vehicle starts honking as if its stuck in a jam and trying to reach a destination in the coming 1 minute. And it doesn’t stop after a honk or two. The driver keeps the switch pressed.
The feeling is like someone just violently shook me up from my sleep and am going to have a heart attack.
The peace and serenity of the morning is destroyed like anything. For a certain time frame it seems that even the birds have stopped chirping.
What I feel bad is that drivers like these are the ones who are actually responsible for the hearing problems that we face. When there is a minimal traffic and the road is sparsely crowded why in hell’s name would you need to honk.
What I am asking is :
- Are people blind that the drivers need to honk to make them aware that they are coming ?
- Or is it that the drivers themselves are blind and need to honk like the devil ?
Can’t we as responsible citizens of India come forward and fight against the menace called honking?
If you ask me how I would say just talk to them and tell them that it hurts the ear when someone honks unnecessarily and then request them politely to not honk unnecessarily thereafter.
Even if they don’t rectify themselves then go ahead and thrash them and tell them
No Honking Please !!!! We are Indians..

Well whenever someone does that and disturbs the beautiful quiet morning,What I do is say this loud “!@#@$%%#$%^#@#%#$%^#&#%^#$%#$%$” and runs as fast I can!.Works everytime
