PS2 and Entertainment Hub

Recently i stumbled upon a very good homebrew software for the PS2 which allows any person to turn their PS2 into an Entertainment Hub.
So how do you do that?
Optional Hardware required :
-
PS2 remote: A PS2 is able to play normal DVD movies. It helps a lot to own a PS2 DVD Remote control to run you favourite DVD movies from the comfort of your couch.

-
Component cable for the PS2: For the ultimate visual experience use a component cable with a supported display.

-
Optical Cable: Use the optical cable to output true Multi-Channel and Surround sound to your amplifier and enjoy the ultimate in audio experience.

Required Hardware:
-
A Slimline PS2: The console needs to be a modded one to run homebrew software.

The most awaited part:
SMS Media Player:
SMS is a DivX and MP3 player for the PS2.
Using SMS, you can stream movies and music right to your TV. forget about all the set-top boxes, forget about the ‘Media PC’, if you have a PS2, you have all the hardware you need.
Features of SMS include:
- Smooth DivX AVI Playback at decent resolution
- Pan/Scan and zooming
- Subtitles support (SRT and SUB)
- Visual seek (Fast Foward and Rewind)
- Multiple language and character set support for subtitles other than English
- MP3 Playback
- AC3 Surround Support
- Full resolution
- Multilanguage
- Copy your movies and mp3′s to your internal HDD!
SMS will read video files from a variety of sources:
- Network Streaming
- USB Drives
- Hard Drives (both the Official Sony HDD and any normal PC HDD)
- CD/DVD-ROM
SMS can even read DVD-RW discs specially formatted with the DVD-Video filesystem, or CD-R Discs formatted with CDDAFS without needing a modchip or any Swap tricks.
One interesting aspect is to install SMS on the Memory Card so that you do not need to use a CD/DVD to start the SMS Media Player and thus increase the life of the PS2 lens. To accomplish that do the following steps:
- Download the CD image of SMS Media Player with uLaunchELF from here.
- Download the latest ELF version of SMS from here. Rename it to BOOT.ELF. (all capitals) and put it onto a USB Pendrive.
- Boot up uLaunchELF from the CD, and use the file browser to create a folder called BOOT on your memory card (mc0).
- Using the uLaunchELF file browser, copy BOOT.ELF file from your pendrive (MASS) into it. From now on, you should be able to start SMS Media Player by holding down R1 when you switch on your PS2.
Once SMS Player loads up you can insert your CD/DVD containing DivX / Xvid or MP3’s, then just browse and play the files.
Note:
The above method only works with PS2 with Memory Card Exploit.
